Chevrolet first launched the Avalanche for the 2002 model year. This four-door crew cab pickup was based on the long-wheelbase chassis used on the Chevrolet Suburban, and provided a unique combination of an SUV's comfort and passenger capacity with a pickup truck's cargo capabilities. What set the Avalanche apart from its predecessors and contemporaries, however, was its innovative removable "midgate," a divider between the rear passenger seat and cargo bed, which enabled the vehicle to instantly transform from prioritizing passenger load to cargo load.
caused some cosmetic problems on the first generation models. Later models included options like a Z71 off road package, a Vortec 5.3-liter V8 engine compatible with E85 ethanol, and trim levels of LS, LT, and LTZ. | 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche More information on the 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Inventory 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Virtual Showroom |
