The GMC Sierra is a full-size pickup truck from General Motors. General Motors has been manufacturing pickup trucks since 1930, but it wasn't until the 1970s that GMC started naming its models under the Sierra nameplate. Through its early years, trim levels were distinguished by name variations including Sierra, High Sierra, Sierra Grande, and Sierra Classic, with a "C" in the name indicating rear-wheel drive, and a "K" for four-wheel drive. Other instances of the brand throughout its history include the GMT800, GMT900, the GMC Sierra C3, the GMC Sierra Hybrid, and the GMC Sierra Denali.
The current GMC Sierra family offers a wide line to suit any use: GMC Sierra 1500, GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid, GMC Sierra 2500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali, GMC Sierra 3500HD, GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali. Trim levels include Work Truck, SL, SLE, SLY, and Xtra Fuel Economy, along with cab choices of Regular, Extended and Crew, and short or long truck beds.
