The 2012 Hyundai Elantra breaks new ground for the compact
car category, abandoning traditional boring design for a stylish new look. The new Elantra was designed in Southern
California by renowned designer Cedric D'Andre, who gave the vehicle its sporty
new "Wind Craft"-inspired shape.
Features include a sloping, coupe-like roofline, increased wheelbase for
a sportier low profile, wraparound headlights, distinctive hood and door
creases, arching fender flares and a trunklid lip spoiler. The attention to detail is like none ever
seen on a compact car.
The Hyunda Elantra has more interior space than the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Nissan Maxima, with the most front leg room in its class. It's also got generous head and shoulder room for passengers in both the front and back, along with 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space. In fact, the Elantra's shear amount of interior space bumps it into the midsize classification, even though it's technically a compact car.
But the Elantra's interior isn't just about quantity; it's got quality covered as well. The instrument panel and audio and climate controls were designed intuitively around the driver, providing a little extra flair while still being easy to use. Standard technology features on the Elantra include XM radio and an iPod/USB auxiliary input jack, and upgrade options include Bluetooth, Proximity Key entry, heated front and rear seats, leather upholstery, navigation, and rearview camera.
