Although the Hyundai Motor Company has been around since 1967, it did not manufacture its first SUV until 2001. No time was wasted, however, as the Hyundai Santa Fe was a consumer hit right out of the gate, edging out competitors like the Ford Escape and Pontiac Aztek. Considered a "Crossover" or "Compact" SUV, the Santa Fe quickly became Hyundai's best seller and helped establish a reputable name for Hyundai in the United States.
The second generation of Santa Fes was debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, and featured a more contemporary design and all-new unibody SUV platform. With its perfect blend of safety, style, sophistication and performance, critics instantly touted it as a "must-drive" for consumers shopping in the crossover segment. Offered in GLS, SE, and Limited versions, the new generation of Santa Fes saw improvements in handling and road noise, as well as previously optional safety features becoming standard, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a tire pressure monitor, side-curtain airbags for all seating rows, active front head restraints, and anti-lock brakes. ![]() | 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe More information on the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Virtual Showroom 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Photos and Videos Review of the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Introduction Interior / Walk Around Driving Impressions Summary |
