Chevrolet Celebrates 100 Years in Song

On November 3, 2011, Chevrolet will celebrate its 100 year anniversary.  With over 200 million vehicles sold, from classics and muscle cars to family vehicles and work trucks, Chevrolet is undeniably one of the pillars of American automotive history.

While it's no small feat for a business to thrive for an entire century, Chevy's success extends beyond its wide product line, innovative technological advancements, and impressive sales numbers.  Chevy has also weaved its way into American culture and heritage, and there's no better example of this than music.

Think about a song that mentions Chevy.  Bet it doesn't take long to come up with a few.  From Billy Joel to LL Cool J, Prince to Bruce Springsteen, Snoop Dogg to The Pointer Sisters, you'll find Chevrolet celebrated in music across genres and generations.

In recognition of Chevy's 100 year anniversary and important role in pop culture, free internet radio station, Pandora, has created a dedicated Chevrolet station playing the Top 100 songs that mention the brand.  Chosen from a pool of over 600 songs that mention Chevy, the Top 100 includes hits like "American Pie" by Don McLean, "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John, and "Little Red Corvette" by Prince.
