2012 Hyundai Accent is a Best-Seller in July

The numbers are in, and there's no doubt about it:  The 2012 Hyundai Accent is on fire.  In July 2011, its first full month of sales, it outsold all other cars in the subcompact category, beating out veritable competitors like the Ford Fiesta and Honda Fit.  The top five sales numbers are as follows:

Hyundai Accent: 6,938
Nissan Versa: 5,359
Ford Fiesta: 5,296
Honda Fit: 4,857
Chevrolet Aveo: 3,349

The results really aren't that surprising when you consider the features the new 2012 Accent has going for it.  For starters, it has best-in-class horsepower, torque, and fuel economy, proving that efficiency and performance can harmoniously coexist.  Its all-aluminum 1.6-liter Gamma four-cylinder engine uses the latest engine technology to crank out 138 horsepower, 123 lb-ft of torque, and a standard 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway fuel economy rating.  In fact, it's the first time a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine has been utilized in a subcompact vehicle, and the Accent indeed puts it to good use.

But its assets aren't just under the hood; the Accent is not too shabby to look at either.  Shattering conventions that economical vehicles should be modest-looking, the new Hyundai Accent features a chiseled front fascia, bold rear bumper design, and flowing lines that you wouldn't normally expect from a subcompact car.  It's no surprise that small car buyers are flocking to this stylish new vehicle.

As if power and looks weren't enough, the Accent further solidifies its presence with the Hyundai Assurance Program, which includes a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, 5-years of complimentary Roadside Assistance and the Hyundai Trade-in Value Guarantee.

John Krafcik, Hyundai's president and CEO, says that July's sales numbers are "a good indication that consumers are connecting with our new design, 40-mpg fuel economy, and the Assurance Trade-In Value Guarantee. It's a great recipe for this economy."  We couldn't agree more.
