The Chevy Equinox goes farther on a tank of gas the the equivalent RAV4: 153 miles farther with the 4 cylinder, 104 miles farther V6 to V6. Direct injection. Enhances both performance and fuel economy. Equinox has it in both engines, RAV4 does not have it. Hydrolic Steering with V6. Hydrolic power steering is better suited for engines with higher power and torque. It's standard with the 2010 Chevy Equinox available V6. RAV4 does not offer hydrolic steering, not even with it's V6-powered Sport models. 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. Standard on all 2010 Chevrolet Equinox models. RAV4 has a slide-opening rear door which can be awkward in certain side loading situations. This further compounded by a heavy spare tire hanging on the door.
